Pinnacle has successfully secured the tender for restoration and improvement works at Fydell House in Boston.  This work has been made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Boston Town Board.

The planned works include:

  • Building fabric repairs to preserve the historical integrity of the structure
  • Upgrading heating systems for improved efficiency and comfort
  • Enhancing welfare provisions to support accessibility and usability
  • Improving access throughout the building, ensuring ease of movement
  • Renovating kitchen facilities to modern standards

Originally built around 1700 for the Jackson family, Fydell House holds deep historical significance.  The Jacksons acquired the land behind the house from the Boston Corporation for £20.  In 1935, the property faced the threat of demolition for housing development.

However, recognising its importance as the grandest house in Boston, the Vicar of Boston and other advocates launched an appeal, successfully purchasing the property.  This effort led to the founding of The Boston Preservation Trust, a limited company dedicated to saving historic buildings in the town and repurposing them for meaningful use.
